Shawn Healey | Dragon KOI Project Day 55 of 365: SERENDIPITOUS FRIENDSHIPS

It's always interesting to me how you "randomly" meet people while walking your path. This weekend was the annual Sedona Yoga Festival. This year it took place partly at the Sedona Hilton, and partly at the Collective. For those of you who don't know, Hayley's Studio is in the Collective, as well as the Sedona Health Spa, which I run. This year, the festival used thee movement space at the spa for a number of their classes. We also offered a discount to participants of the Yoga Festival a discount on spa services. During the weekend, a couple of women came in to have a salt room treatment. The Halogenerator (machine that blows the salt into the room) was being a little temperamental, so I went in to check on it a few minutes after the session started. This check turned into a 1/2 hour conversation about the festival, hiking, Sedona, and generally life... Longish story short, there was a good connection within the conversation, which turned into a sunrise hike up Cathedral for all of us. 

You know when there are those people that you come into contact with that seem to be more than a passing interaction? Those serendipitous friendships that arise suddenly, but know there is probably going to be more there? I kind of have this sneaking suspicion that this may be one of those. Thanks to Kelly Fitzpatrick, Kristin Lash and Erin Magoon for the great hike this morning, and what I think might be a serendipitous friendship!
